Aurora’s new, temporary mayor – Bob LeGare – actually gave up some power when he got the job. The city council sets policy, and elected one of its own to the largely ceremonial role.

LeGare, a veteran of 16 years on the council, was sworn in June 29 to fill out the term of Steve Hogan, who died in May of cancer.

In an interview with Kyle Clark, LeGare shared his vision for the city – including whether the job of mayor should be more powerful and if Amazon.com Inc. should be in his city’s future.
