The National Association of Realtors’ chief economist takes the long view on the country’s housing market and likes what he sees in Pueblo.
Lawrence Yun spoke recently to more than 100 industry professionals from the Pueblo, Pikes Peak, Royal Gorge and Central Colorado associations of Realtors. He talked about housing, for sure, but also favorably about Pueblo’s job growth, which he described as improving at a healthy rate, on par with the United States average.
“I think you are in good condition,” Yun said. Nationally and locally, he said, the challenges include the low inventory of available homes, which tends to drive prices higher and homes out of the reach of many people who dream of owning their own home, and the slow pace of home construction.
