Coexist peacefully and safely.
That is a complete necessity when it comes to the world of motorists and road cyclists.
A recent forum brought a number of issues to the table on the subject and at the heart of this issue is getting the two sides to coexist with less frustration on both sides.
That’s much easier said than done but this is a nice start to the discussion here in Mesa County.
Firstly, we would be remiss if we didn’t give a shoutout to Sen. Ray Scott and Rep. Yeulin Willett for recognizing the importance of this issue and organizing the public meeting.
Scott drew the ire of cyclists last year when he floated the idea of attaching a tax to new bicycle purchases to help fund road maintenance. However, he obviously embraces the goal of the two sides to coexist peacefully and safely.
