Day one of the Democratic National Convention was marked by energy and excitement. The streets of Philadelphia were paved with progressives and the energy was palpable — a promising sign for the future of our party. I started my day at the Colorado Delegation Breakfast, where our state’s Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton supporters came together for a productive conversation about continuing to move Colorado forward. Among other platform advancements, my fellow delegates discussed improving college affordability and super delegate reform measures.

DENVER — Well, none of us can say we didn't see the rough and tumble conventions for both parties coming from miles away right? Happy Day # 2 of the Democratic National Convention ... and All or Nothing Day (more encouragement for the Bernie Sanders supporters). This morning Hillary Clinton's campaign manager Robby Mook told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that he didn't believe the stolen DNC emails were a "coincidence." "All I know is what the experts and the reporters are telling us, what they're saying is it was likely Russian actors. I think the timing around our convention was not a coincidence." So everyones' suspicions are confirmed. Trump connection, though? "Absurd" says his campaign. But the email hacking caused somewhat of a total upheaval on Convention Day 1, and a subsequent bowing out of Debbie Wasserman Schultz from her place in the chair of the convention yesterday — the festivities were instead gaveled in by Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. Meanwhile, leaders in the Colorado for Bernie Sanders movement are calling for party unity and (at least eventual) support for Clinton. But it wasn't all butterflies and cordiality.

DENVER — Happy Monday, and here's to a great start to your Democratic National Convention week if you are one of those lucky 78 delegates or an alternate ... or a consultant or just a visitor getting to celebrate in The City of Brotherly Love! Say hello to "Frank Reynolds" and the gang while you're there. While one might think 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," weather forecasters show you will have overcast skies and some scattered showers today. It may not be sunny all week, but it will be hotter than heck, so I hope you packed your personal misting devices. If you are back home and disinterested in the DNC as it plays out on your telescreens, then Happy International Wine and Cheese Day, or ... Health and Happiness with Hypnosis Day. I hope one of the two — the warning label advises not to mix both — help take the edge off your Monday. And don't forget, if you run for office ... people very well may pay you to quit.
