Colorado State University-Pueblo’s campus now sports a gleaming, fresh-looking student center resulting from a $34 million facelift, thanks in large part to $30 million in student fees. It was fitting, then, that the former Occhiato University Center has been renamed the Occhiato Student Center in tribute to the students who paid for the extensive renovation.
“Students funded $30 million of this project. I think it’s important that we thank our students for that,” said CSU-Pueblo President Timothy Mottet. He thanked the former president, Lesley Di Mare, for all the work she did for the new facility.
Associated Student Government President Jake Harmon thanked the student leaders involved in the project. “This is an amazing facility … It’s fantastic to finally see it all come to fruition,” he said.
