Pueblo County commissioners are moving in the right direction when it comes to making government more open and accessible to citizens. But it’s a process that will move only as fast as money and available resources allow.
Commissioner Garrison Ortiz recently announced that county government is purchasing the equipment needed to livestream commission meetings on Facebook. The equipment should arrive next month and Ortiz said it could be operational by the end of the summer.
The money needed to pay for the equipment — $62,907 — is a comparatively small investment for a tool that will make meetings available for a wider audience to watch.
