Why do Grand Junction City Council members insist on making things harder than necessary?
City government, for the most part, is efficient, thoughtful and takes the long view on how to best serve city residents. One notable exception is the council’s refusal to put an end to invocations.
The council was scheduled to debate Monday whether to alter its policy of allowing a prayer before public meetings. We’ve long opposed this practice and have urged council members to abandon it in favor of a moment of silence.
