Yes, there needs to be an investigation, but not necessarily of General Mike Flynn. Democratic Senator Chris Coons of Delaware and Chuckie Schumer of New York demand to know when President Trump knew what he knew and when did he know whatever he knew about General Mike Flynn's conversation with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Democratic Representatives John Conyers, Jr. and Elijah E. Cummings, are "shocked and dismayed!"Yes!The scandalous Conyers, with a history of abusing his taxpayer-funded official resources and whose wife is now out of prison for bribery, is "shocked!"

How do we know Dr. Ben Carson is unqualified to be Secretary of Housing and Urban Development? Because House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said so, calling him "disturbingly unqualified." "There is no evidence that Dr. Carson brings the necessary credentials to hold a position with such immense responsibilities and impact on families and communities across America," Pelosi said.

"She is a fundamentally good and decent person." You really need no further explanation as to why this is a laugh line. Just know it was someone talking about Hillary Clinton. That "someone" is President Obama, furiously trying to save Hillary's sliding campaign amid the FBI re-opening her criminal investigation. One of the millions of Americans who would never be convinced of such a construct would be Democrat Dave Schippers.

To say New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is skipping.. um.. trudging.. out of office, loading up Jersey drivers with a 250 percent increase in the gas tax, is certainly accurate. To say he's waddling out of office, giving tax breaks to veterans, the poor, the middle class and the wealthy would also be accurate. What you don't know is for how long any tax cuts agreed upon by the Democrats overpopulating Garden State political offices will last.

The Great American Trump Freakout is just getting started, in which anything Trump says that can be misinterpreted as evil will be. Liberals are readily convinced Trump saying 2nd Amendment supporters could do something about Hillary appointing Supreme Court judges who oppose the Second Amendment was talking about assassination. Of course, he said no such thing.

There are quite a few media commentators and reporters bemoaning the fact that the announcement of Indiana Governor and former Senator Mike Pence as Donald Trump's Vice Presidential candidate centered on Trump. Washington Post reporters Jenna Johnson and Robert Costa opined, "Introducing his running mate on Saturday, Donald Trump stood alone behind a lectern bearing only his name and rambled for 28 minutes about his primary victories, what he called Hillary Clinton's crimes against the country, how pastors should be allowed to endorse candidates and how he correctly predicted the outcome of the Brexit vote." Maggie Haberman at the New York Times griped, "Typically, the vice-presidential candidate is given a moment to shine. But Mr. Trump spoke for more than twice as long as Mr. Pence, whose speech clocked in at roughly 12 minutes."

Elections matter. But what do people really want? As the host of a radio show, I get to talk to people for a living. I talk with policy wonks, politicians and, most important, real people with real concerns and real needs. The Verizon worker leaning a 25-foot ladder up against a tree in 20 mph winds hoping to retire in a couple of years without worrying that his pension and medical insurance could vanish. Yeah, he's one of the few U.S. employees with a defined benefit pension and he likes it. He also knows full well that defined benefit pensions are not sustainable with a smaller population of workers coming up behind him. These people are not stupid.
