Pueblo civic, business and elected leaders will attend a Colorado Office of Economic Development meeting today in support of the long-awaited Downtown Riverwalk-convention center expansion project in line to receive Regional Tourism Authority funding from the state.

We join the large group of supporters’ excitement and enthusiasm for the project, which can become a reality soon after the $35 million in state sales tax revenues gets the final OK from the Colorado Economic Development Commission.

The project is designed to attract a larger tourist trade, starting with the first-phase addition of an exhibit hall and Professional Bull Riders-anchored sports training facility at the Pueblo Convention Center, along with building a nearby parking garage.
